FULL LAND PACKAGE COSTA RICA – DEPARTING FROM THE CITY OF SAN JOSE
The Isla Colon cycling event has already been a great success for 2 years and for this year 2023 we have prepared packages that allow you to participate more comfortably; taking care of all the logistics of transportation of cyclists, their companions and transportation of bicycles. Our event will have two routes to choose from: – Recreational 30 Km or 60 Km – Competitive 60 Km The cyclists and companions will be transported from San Jose, by bus to the port of Almirante and then by water transport to cross to Isla Colon – Bocas Town. It is possible to take the bicycles in the same bus.
TRANSPORTATION FOR CYCLISTS
The departure points for cyclists and accompanying persons will be: San Jose City: San José City (The specific place will be defined later). We recommend you to be at the above mentioned points about 30 minutes before the departure time. Cyclists and companions must print their receipts (sent to their emails) and present them to board the bus. The trip will take approximately 10 hours. At the port of Almirante the water transport will be waiting for you to take you to Bocas Town.
RETURN TRANSPORTATION
The meeting point is at Calle Primera, Bocas Town at the PanaBocas terminal building on Monday May 1st at 7am, where we will take the water transportation back to the Port of Almirante. At the Port of Almirante we will take the bus back to San Jose. LODGING Cyclists and their companions will be able to choose one (1) of the four lodging options. The cost will vary according to the standard and facilities provided by the hotel. The lodging options are: Hotel Divers Paradise – Four star hotel. Hotel Bocas Town – Three star hotel. Las Olas Hotel. Two star hotel (affordable price). Hotel El Alba. Economic Hotel.
INTERNAL TRANSFERS
On the day of the event the competitors will be able to deliver a backpack at the assigned point near the start line to be picked up at the finish line. The purpose is that cyclists have the opportunity to have a change of clothes at the end of the event. Cyclists wishing to return to Bocas Town will be transported back to Bocas Town free of charge. Buses will depart at 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm and 5:00pm. On the day of the competition there will be shuttle buses from Bocas Town to Boca del Drago. The cost of this service will be modest and must be paid directly to the carriers providing the service.
